Inlays
and Onlays
Inlays
and onlays are frequently used to restore teeth that are
severely damaged by decay or wear. They are usually applied
to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth.
An
inlay fits within the contours of the tooth. An onlay
not only fits within these contours, but it also covers
the chewing surface of the teeth.
Laser
Whitening
We
use a laser whitening system called Zoom that lightens your teeth almost immediately. Within one hour, your teeth will be
noticeably lighter and brighter. The Laser Whitening System
is used with a dental laser, plasma arc light, or other
high-intensity light source to accelerate the bleaching
process.
After
it has been determined that laser whitening is an appropriate
treatment for you, our staff will set up your whitening
appointment. Your teeth and gums will be prepared with
special materials. The whitening gel is then applied directly
to your tooth surface and exposed to the light source.
The combination of thermal activity with the whitening
gel will cause the surface staining of your teeth to be
gradually removed.
At
Home Whitening
We
take impressions of your mouth to fabricate custom fitted
trays that fit accurately over your upper and lower teeth.
On the second visit, the patient is provided with the
trays and a whitening kit. The patient then wears these
comfortable trays for two weeks while they sleep. On the
third visit, the patient is re-evaluated for the dramatic
changes that have occurred. Depending on the color of
your teeth, we may suggest wearing the tray for an additional
week. See the new patient special on our home page. |
